Report

A very enjoyable day was had by all on this beautiful, and very well maintained course. The fairways were in excellent condition and the rolling greens were very true, as always.

4 Full flights , with Mike Han joining the 4 th flight,to make a 5 ball. Great having Mike back with the LCs , and many thanks for his help in arranging the game and for paying for the beers. Much appreciated.

The birthday weekend.... Ted on Sunday, and Hans and Alan on Monday. Hans very generously paid for lunch and Alan provided 4 sleeve of balls. Thank you both and happy birthday. No singing like at Ted's ... shame.

The winners of the sleeves.
Lowest Gross Geoff Mclaws, 84
1 st place Andrew Robinson
5 th place ocb( from Ray Funnell) Iain Wise
9 th place Mathew Katakis

The winner on the day, (with his high handicap) was Andrew Robinson with 94 for 42 points. Cut only 6. Andrew is now away for the next 3 weeks.  Have a safe trip.  Even using the bonus points I could not separate Kevin Wiggins, 87, for 39  and Bernard Rohman 90, 39 , so a convenor decision, cut them both by 1 ...!!  Gordon escaped the cut because of less bonus points.

LOOSE CANNONS vs LEGS CHALLENGE MATCH

And a good time was had by all.  9 Pairs teed off on time in very pleasant conditions , with a 4 point start. The club had organised the bags and buggies well and the ladies enjoyed their fruit platters and welcome drink, courtesy of the LCs .

The match was based on better ball stableford.   Efforts were made to try and get the handicaps and the pairings to provide close matches.  This was achieved with the match being all square at 4 1/2 games each. On total aggregated handicaps the ladies achieved 9 more points...!!

The ladies winning pair with 47 points was Camilla and Nancy. Camilla recording a gross of 75.... The men's winning pair was Paul and Mathew with 50 points.

Report

23 players turned out in excellent golfing conditions, got hotter later on, and we played the Alam Shah and Presidents 9s. The president 9 has recently been reopened and the greens were very " new" and sandy, and compared to Alam Shah very slow.

The winner on the day, Erol Akinci with 94 for 44 points, which after the cut of 8 brings his h/cap to more normal levels... Second place was Kevin Wiggins with 86 for 43 points, on count back from Andrew Robinson. Kevin cut only 1. Lowest gross was Geoff Mclaws with an excellent 78.

It was Andre's last game with us , for a while, as he is going back to Scandanavia . He kindly donated 4 sleeve of balls for the NTPs.

The winners were:

Hole 2  Gordon Wingate  4 metres

Hole 8 Vincent Vijayan 2.5 metres

Hole 11Erol Akinci  16 metres

Hole 15 Geoff Mclaws

Also Taffy, after not such a good trip this year, with his health issues, leaves us for the cold fairways of N. Wales.   We all look forward to both of you returning back to LC s and KL as soon as you can.

We also welcomed Hans Berger's son Tommy who joined us on the day.
