Results - Impian Golf & Country Club - 28th July 2015

Report

This was the monthly trophy game for July and we had 3 full flights with one guest. Weather was very good and the course was in great shape although most people complained about the slow greens.  The white tees were not present today so we all played off the blue tees with the exception of Andrew Chez who used the rear black tees.

Shot of the Day goes to Stuart Taylor who was inaugriating his new 56 deg sand wedge and the first time he used it was on the 9th hole where he played the very first virginal shot with this club and hole the ball for a sandy birdie!

We were not unduly held up and were back in the clubhouse around 12pm or after. Mike Smith had decided that given the usual traffic congestion on the way to the usual Seafood restaurant we would head over to East of Highway Restaurant for lunch. It was ironic that Mike missed the SILK turnoff and then spent a full hour to find his way eventually to the restaurant were everyone sees was safe installed partaking of the amber ale.

Thanks to Allan Wright for sponsoring the final batch of extra beers!

Results

The winner today for the July Trophy (and his very first Cannons win) was Allan Wright with 38 points and a gross of 96. Well done Allan. Runner up was Rein Li tan with 37 points and a gross of 90. Bets gross of the day goes to Andrew Chez with an 85. Full results below :

Results - Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club - 21st July 2015

Report

It was a beautiful, still and slightly overcast morning at Tasik Puteri with 13 players heading out onto the Puteri and Putera nines - should have been 15 but we had a no-show from ReinLi Tan. The weather was cool for the first nine holes but it soon warmed up for the back 9. The course was playing well and in good condition, the greens had been hollow tined but were running very well.  The tee boxes however were in much need of cutting and repair. With 3 x 3-balls and 1 x 4 ball we were finished within 4 hours then headed to the usual restaurant back on the road to Rawang for food and drinks.

Results

There were some good scores today with over half the field shooting to handicap or better. In 3rd place was Brian Stubbs with 39 points (gross 97), 2nd place was Allan Wright, 40 points (gross 94), but the clear winner was Stuart Taylor with an excellent 44 points (gross 78) equaling his best round to date which was just shot last week at Bangi. Best gross was Stuart Taylor with 78. Full results tabulated below :
