"Golf is a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball into an even smaller hole, with weapons singularly ill-designed for the purpose."

Results - KGSAAS - 5th January 2016

The first game of 2016 was held at KGSAAS with 19 players in 5 flights teeing off on the Sultan and Alam Shah 9's under the command of our new Convenor, Mike Smith. The weather was good with clear skies making it rather hot and sticky by the time we concluded at around 1pm. The course was in good condition and I didn't hear any complaints from anyone - if we were to be picky there were a couple of greens under repair with some patches but otherwise the greens were very good.

We took lunch at the excellent Pantai Seafood which is great value for money and with the RM50 added into the pot from the winner (thanks Ray!) who wasn't there to collect it and the added bonus of Alan Holgate buying the beers to celebrate his 80th Birthday it was a rather cheap lunch. Many thanks Alan for your kind drinks purchase - we all look forward to the Big 90th Bash!

Results - KGSAAS - 17th November 2015

We had 14 Cannons at KGSAAS this morning ..... and one Cannon at Nilai Springs! Just as Allan was starting to register at 7:30am he received a call from Jeff Pearce wondering why no-one was at Nilai Springs .... guess he missed the 2 or 3 e-mails that we all received with the change of venue. He managed to catch up the last flight and join the game by the end of Hole No 3.

After quoting the usual Senior Rate on booking the club also informed Allan that the Senior rate was only applicable on Thursdays and Fridays making it a little bit more expensive.

The course was wet and soggy in many places and like me I'm sure many players had problems with lost, plugged balls in the fairway. I also experience a flight on another hole playing my ball leaving a poxy Titleist in my fairway by means of a fair swap!

The weather was good and actually cleared up by the back ( with beautiful clear blue skies which made a change after the many months of haze.Apart from the wet fairways in many places the greens were quite good and deceptively fast in places. The tee boxes were rather shoddy and in need of attention.
