"Golf is a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball into an even smaller hole, with weapons singularly ill-designed for the purpose."

Results - Bukit Kemuning - 10th November 2015

Sixteen players teed off under clear skies and perfect weather conditions, very different from the last time we played this venue when play was abandoned after 5 holes. The course was in poor condition with soggy fairways and uneven and bumpy greens. We all teed off from the first, play was not quick and all the players were back in to the clubhouse by 1-15pm. The scoring was not great, with the exception of today’s winner Peter Kenyon who shot 95 for 41 points, a Stewards Enquiry is still ongoing into this remarkable fete. Runner up and best gross of the day was Geoff McLaws with a score of 81 for 35 points. It was good to welcome guests Carl Wombwell  and Emlyn Jones, who was so overwhelmed that he turned up for play with his shirt inside out, a good sign proving that he already possesses the attributes of a good Loose Cannon.

Lunch was taken at O & S restaurant where fifteen of us squeezed around one table, very cosy. Many thanks to Barry for booking and ordering the excellent food.

Report - Bukit Kemuning Golf & Country Resort - 8th September 2015

Four flights convened at Bukit Kemuning this morning .... well almost four flights .... Robert Mulliss came rolling up at 8:10 as we were on the first tee with the first group already half way up the first ...... some feeble excuse about his GPS taking him the wrong way via some back roads in Shah Alam.

We only got in about 5 holes when the rain came and eventually after waiting for 30 - 45 mins at the rest hit we abandoned play .... the first time in many a year.

Results - Bukit Kemuning - 12th May 2015

Report

Only 14 players teed off on time from 2 tee boxes on a sunny, hot and very humid day. The humidity was certainly cleared on the way back with exceptionally heavy rain , all the way back to KL.. !!

The course was in generally good condition, with the greens being fast but a little bumpy.

9 players eventually made it to the restaurant, after one of the leading cars lost two of the following vehicles..... and an enjoyable lunch was had by all. Andrew kindly bought the beers to celebrate his belated birthday.

Results

The winner was Brian Stubbs with 98 for 36 points. In second place was Robert Mulliss with 103 for 35 points. Lowest gross was Geoff Mclaws with a 83. Well done to all. Surprisingly 8 out of the 14 starters were within 2 stableford points. Full results below:

Results - Bukit Kemuning - 7th January 2014

Report

Bukit Kemuning was drier than expected, only a few soft patches, and played well.  The greens were in good condition and were even paced. Pleasant weather conditions which warmed up later, resulted in a good morning's golf.

First week of using USGA H/Caps, so no cuts for the winners. It will be interesting to see how the new system evolves.

The winner was Jason Winter with an excellent 76 for 39 points. He just beat his work comrade Ted Parslow who scored 81 for 38 points.

The excellent lunch arranged by Barry was somewhat extended as simple directions to get to the restaurant,1 km away from the club, seemed to cause rather a lot of difficulties.... Eventually we only finished up 2 members short....!! There has however been some negative feedback on the lunch arrangements particularly with the food being served a long time before all members had arrived resulting an latecomers getting some meagre leftovers (at a hefty price as well!)

Results

The course was in good condition, but after the previous day's storm the greens were a little slow. Only 3 Flights teed off on time in pleasant conditions.

The winner, for his second win, was Allan McNicoll with 99 for 39 points, beating the lowest gross of 83 by Ted Parslow, 37 points. Cut 4 and 1 respectively. Full results attached.

The excellent wine prize as kindly donated by Erol was won by Ted Parslow with a total of 110 points. Stuart and Graham finished up with 102. Well done Ted and enjoy the wine. Interestingly, when hopefully we will have a similiar competition Allan with his good round today, finished in 4th place only 2 shots behind the runners up. Shows how placings can easily change.
