Results - Staffield Country Resort - 15th December 2015

We played Staffield this week mainly to guarantee good playing conditions due to the heavy rain over the lsat week or so which made many courses wet and boggy. Staffield was in great condition even after the very heavy and continuous rain of yesterday. The weather was good with clear blue skies. We had 4 full flights today as we headed out on the North and West courses all finishing in good time by 12:30pm. We then adjourned up the road to our usual East of Highway Restaurant for a good lunch and a few needed cold ones.

Results

Peter Davies joined us for his second game this year and like the first time he won again with an excellent gross 90 (his best personal score to date) and 41 points. Runner up was Mike Smith with 39 points and a gross of 91 .... he will need to work harder to shoot his age but going by his spirit and health he stands a good chance of doing this. 3rd place was Barry Cousins with a great 38 (gross of 102), probably aided by his recent steroid injection for his knees! Best gross of the day was Geoff McLaws with and 82. Full results below:

Results - Kota Permai Golf & Country Club - 8th December 2015

We had 5 full flights with 20 players this morning at Kota Permai enjoying the special December green fees rate. Weather was good and the course was in pretty good shape with only small areas being a little wet. The greens as per usual were fast but true. We were almost all finished by 12:30 ... but the last group (my group) were caught on the final hole with the rain stop siren and could not complete the hole till 30 minutes later. We took lunch at the nearby O&S Restaurant (many thanks to Barry Cousins for doing the arrangements). We took the opportunity also to celebrate Mike Smith's 77th Birthday and he kindly picked up the beer bill for the day .... many thanks Mike.

Geoff McLaws was our winner today with an excellent best gross of 77 and 39 points .... on count back from Charles Blanchet who also shot 39 points. Full scores below :

Results - Nilai Springs Golf & Country Club - 1st December 2015

Weather conditions were really good for today's game at Nilai Springs with 15 Loose Cannon's players heading out on Pine and Island 9's at 8:00am. The course was somewhat wet and boggy in places but the greens were in great shape. Being in the first 3-ball we finished early but the other 3 flights of 4 took a little longer held up by some other players on the course.

We had lunch at the East of Highway Restaurant with 10 of us making it there for a slightly over-ordered volume of food.

Welcome to Mike Smith's guest today, David Evans, who has just retired so may be joining us more often now.

Results

The winner today with 37 points and the best gross of the day of 85 was Stuart Taylor. Vincent Vijayan was runner up with 36 points and a gross of 99. Full results below:
